[WORK IN PROGRESS] This is a guide on how to populate our MuonPi-PCB, using the construction kit. You can get a kit yourself by contacting us.

The Kit

The Kit contains all the parts you need to setup your RaspberryPi as a cosmic ray detector in the comfort of your home.

Contents of the Kit are:

  • The plastic scintillator (generously provided by Eljen Technology)
  • The bare printed circuit board (Muonpi board)
  • GNSS antenna
  • All components to mount on the PCB
  • Bill of materials

Tools

The tools you need to populate the PCB with the SMD components include:

  • a soldering iron
  • solder
  • (metal) tweezers
  • flux
  • solder wick
  • solder fume extractor
  • scalpel/scissors
